This might look like stroking, sitting alongside, or simply making gentle contact.
The interaction is never forced or staged.
Animals always have the choice to move away, and watching them exercise that choice is itself a meaningful part of the therapeutic experience.
Not every animal is open to physical contact, and not every client wants it — and both of those things are completely fine.
Observing animals can be just as therapeutically powerful as interacting with them.
Watching how an animal moves, rests, sets boundaries, and simply exists can offer genuine moments of insight, calm, and connection.
